VISITOR INFORMATION
The Mars Historical and Landmarks Society is delighted to welcome visitors from 10 AM to 2 PM every Friday. During that time, our buildings and exhibits will be open for you to explore, and our volunteers will be available to answer questions or discuss local history.
The Mars Shortline Railroad is currently CLOSED!
We will reopen for the 2024 season in May. Please check back here, or on our Facebook page for updates.
Food Policy
Guests are welcome to bring snacks or lunch and enjoy our outdoor pavilion.
Please do not eat inside the rail station or around our other exhibits.
Restrooms
Restroom facilities are available, handicap accessible, and have a changing table.
Handicap Accessibility
All of our buildings except for the caboose are at ground level or provide a ramp for access.
Parking
Limited parking is available on-site and across the railroad tracks next to the caboose. Please use caution when crossing the tracks with small children. During the busy season, volunteers will be around to direct parking. Parking in the town of Mars is also an option.
Rent Our Facility
The MAHLS facilities are available for rental year-round. We enjoy hosting school or playgroup visits and birthday parties with private train rides from May to October. For more information, please email marshistory@gmail.com or (for the fastest response) message us on Facebook.
